21st May 1851
"It was resolved that absolute disapproval be served on ...
Mr Swarbrick, house to be errected in Friargate."
[In fact this application was for the rebuilding of Old Chapel Yard and
the six shops, three either side of the entry, on Friargate.]

30th July 1851
"It was resolved that the Surveyor do apply to Mr Swarbrick for payment
of £5, being the amount fixed
by the committee for the piece of land in Friargate formally occupied as
part of the public footway and now built upon by him, and that unless he
pays the same that the Law Clerk have authority to take proceedings
against him."

6th August 1851
" It was resolved that the Law Clerk do take proceedings against Mr
Swarbrick for the recovery of £5 being the amount fixed by the committee
for a part of the footway in Friargate sold to him."

21st April 1852
"... resolved that Mr Swarbrick's tender for lamp pillars be accepted."
[It is probable that this was a tender for the errection of lamp pillars,
not their manufacture.]
