at Luckington.Transcript of the examination of Edward Lydiard under the provisions
of the Settlement Act of 1662.The Examination of Edward Lydiard now residing in the parish of
Sherston Magna in the said County taken this 2nd day of December
1793.Who on his oath saith he is about thirty three years of age and was
born in the Parish of Sherston aforesaid. Saith by what he hath been
informed his Father William Lydiard about thirty two years ago went
away from Sherston aforesaid where he left his Wife and Family, and
that his Father went to some part in London where he cohabited with
another woman. Saith about twenty years ago his Mother as he hath
been informed went some where below Bristol where she hired herself
as Dairy Maid to one Mr Coombs. Saith after his Mother leaving him
he went and lived with his uncle Francis Neale at the sign of The
Ship at Luckington in the said parish of Sherston where he continued
